Koi in the Planet Hollywood combines Las Vegas glitz with Asian exoticism for a distinctly chic dining affair. A Japanese aesthetic blends with a Blade Runner-like futurism to create a stunningly stylish backdrop for the kitchen’s Asian experimentations. Intimate niches in booths reminiscent of river rocks reflect the refined naturalism of the bamboo-accented main dining room, while panoramic Strip views ground the restaurant firmly in its cosmopolitan surroundings. The sushi bar serves as a focal point, justifiably drawing attention to Koi’s succulent sushi offerings. A bevy of clever Asian and pop culture-inspired beverages enhances the imminently savvy Koi experience.
The design and decor of the restaurant are top notch. The service was solid. The sushi was very good. The edamame appetizer was a small portion and could have been done better.
The food was decent, nothing amazing compared to other Asian restaurants I've been to. Decor was nice, liked the ambiance. However, major mistakes made during service, would not return. - Upon making my reservation over the phone, the hostess put the time in wrong. - Upon being seated, booth was very dirty and asked for it to be cleaned. - After drinking half of my Sprite, they poured water into my soda and failed to get me a new one until 5 minutes later. You would think that would be a priority after messing my beverage up. - Server constantly disappeared, long gaps in returning to table to check on us. Like I said, food was decent but I think a bit overpriced. Great decor can not make up for bad service.
