Address: 128 E. Fremont Street, Las Vegas, NV 89101 (Map)

Top of Binion's Steakhouse

In a city like Las Vegas, there are very few absolutes. Always split aces and eights. Never bet more than you can afford to lose. Never wise-off to the bouncer. For people seeking the "Old Vegas," there is one more absolute: eat at least one over-the-top dinner at Top of Binion's Steakhouse. Binion's is a throwback to the Rat Pack era. The decor is burgundy velvet, of course. The view from the 24th floor is fabulous. The portions aren't just large, they're gigantic: a statement in excess. The prime rib alone is the size of a Caddy's tailfin. With service that personifies Western Hospitality, and a loyal staff that has been around for decades, Binion's is a sure thing.

Address: 3655 Las Vegas Blvd South, Las Vegas, NV 89109 (Map)

Le Burger Brasserie

Only in the Paris could a restaurant transform the everyday burger into a celebrated work of art. At Le Burger Brasserie, the hamburger is a blank canvas, and guests are presented with a palette of options for selecting the bun, the meat, and the condiments. The result is such diverse offerings as the Mediterranean--grilled ground domestic lamb patty with feta cheese, black kalamata olives and avocado--and the Normandy--Fresh ground salmon patty with sautéed mushrooms, provolone cheese, and micro anise. Of course, the true test of any burger joint is a straight up hamburger; at Le Burger Brasserie, the "Le Classique" passes with flying colors.
